CHIAZOR A.N. OKAGBUE, Associate

Chiazor A.N. Okagbue rejoined McKenzie & Associates, P.C. in January, 2010, having served as a Legal Assistant from 2004 to 2006. Her practice areas include probate, estate planning, real estate, and litigation.

Chiazor graduated from Indiana University School of Law in 2009, where she was an Indiana Conference on Legal Education Opportunity Fellow (ICLEO). As a law student, she served as President of the Black Law Students Association and as a member of the Dean’s Student Advisory Board. In her final year of law school, she was invited to participate in the Indianapolis American Inn of Court as an Honorary Student Member.

Chiazor’s professional experience includes a summer associate position with the business and estate planning departments at the Indianapolis law firm Barnes & Thornburg LLP and a competitive corporate in-house legal externship at The Finish Line Inc. She was given the honor of being selected to work as the first ICLEO legal fellow for the office of Indiana’s Lieutenant Governor, Rebecca Skillman. Chiazor also gained valuable litigation experience as a Certified Legal Intern with the Indiana University Civil Practice Clinic.

She is a 2005 graduate of Boston College with a B.A. in Political Science and a Minor in Black Studies. Chiazor was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 2010 and is a Fall 2009 graduate of the Commonwealth Seminar, a program that promotes diversity within the State House and the Massachusetts legislative process.
