Garrett J. Lee, Senior Associate
Garrett J. Lee is a senior associate at McKenzie & Associates P.C. Attorney Lee focuses his practice on the areas of business litigation, commercial contracts, construction law, OSHA compliance, professional liability, land-use disputes, intellectual property law, insurance coverage and defense, environmental law, and complex tort and products liability law.
Attorney Lee received his B.S., magna cum laude, in 1993 from Northeastern University. During college, he studied abroad at the University of London, Goldsmiths College, London, England. Attorney Lee received his J.D. degree from Northeastern University School of Law in 1997.
Attorney Lee’s clients have included small and medium sized businesses, international corporations, universities and other nonprofit institutions, construction companies, design professionals, and individuals. On the litigation side his practice, Attorney Lee recently won a highly contentious copyright infringement appeal in the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. He argued the case before a panel of three judges which included Sandra Day O’Connor, a former Justice of the United States Supreme Court. The case set new precedent in the First Circuit relative to the “discovery the rule” and “work for hire” doctrine in architectural copyright infringement cases.
Attorney Lee is an active member of the Northeastern University Alumni Association. He is a founding member of the Northeastern University Alumni Networking Exchange and is currently serving a term as President of the entire NU Alumni Association.
Attorney Lee is a member of the bars of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, and the United States Courts of Appeals for the First Circuit.
