Our attorneys continue to make important contributions to our communities. In return, they have received recognition by our peers and friends for the work that we have been doing. Among our recent recognitions are:

Attorney Garrett J. Lee was elected to the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association of Northeastern University School of Law. He will join his fellow Directors to provide leadership and direction to the Association.

In addition to his present election, Attorney Lee was recently recognized by the Northeastern University Alumni Relations Office for his leadership and work on the Northeastern University Alumni Networking Exchange Steering Committee.

Attorney Joseph D. Feaster, Jr. has a long history of community involvement and has recently been a regular guest on Touch 106.1 FM talk radio. He focuses on answering law-related questions asked by members of the audience. In addition to his appearances on the radio program, Attorney Feaster regularly lectures on real estate and probate matters in programs delivered to churches and community groups, most notably the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts and Morning Star Baptist Church He served as a Trustee of the Southern New England School of Law, who recently transferred its assets to UMASS Dartmouth to establish the UMASS School of Law at Dartmouth, the fist public law school in Massachusetts. Recently, Attorney Feaster was one of the speakers at the swearing in ceremony of the Honorable Shannon Frison as an Associate Justice, Boston Municipal Court.

Attorney Denzil D. McKenzie has been very busy with professional organizations. He was recently elected Treasurer of the Alumni Association of Boston University School of Law. He has served on the Board for many years and was Corresponding Secretary in Fiscal Year 2009-2010.

He was also appointed Treasurer of the Clients’ Security Board of the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts. He also serves on the Finance Committee of the Board of Bar Overseers. The Clients’ Security Board adjudicates and pays claims of clients who have lost money due to misconduct of Massachusetts attorneys. The Board awards in excess of $2,000,000 annually from attorneys’ registration fees.

On June 5, 2010, Attorney McKenzie was a presenter at the 26th Annual National Clients’ Protection Forum in Seattle, WA. His presentation addressed the tax reporting requirements of reimbursements made by clients’ security organizations. The Forum was presented to delegates representing 27 United States jurisdictions and 3 Canadian Provinces.

Attorney McKenzie was also elected Treasurer of the Massachusetts Family and Probate American Inn of Court. He served as Secretary to the Board during Fiscal Year 2009-2010. The Inn of Court is an organization of 153 members comprised of judges, court personnel and attorneys working in the family law and probate fields. The mission is to promote professionalism, civility and ethical awareness through discourse and education. The Massachusetts Family and Probate Inn of Court meets regularly throughout the year as a means of fostering collegiality and providing peer education on topics of importance to the practice of law in the Family and Probate Courts. Attorney Chiazor (Chaz) Okagbue has returned home. She is a recent admittee to the Massachusetts Bar and a graduate of Boston College and Indiana University School of Law. Prior to attending law school, Chaz served as a Legal Assistant in our Firm. We proudly take credit for helping to lay the foundation for Chaz’s successful legal education and we hope to continue to assist her in launching a career as a successful attorney.
